San Antonio Wedding Photographer - Candid or is it?

Coming up with fun concepts that look candid are some of my favorite portraits. For this photo had Lubo and Holly order a milkshake and share it with two straws like something out of a 50's movie. We shot at a local restaurant called the Pig Stand and I was actually in the kitchen, manager approval of course to capture this fun and romantic image.

San Antonio Wedding Photographer - Fashion Shooting

When shooting fashion its good to have a concept. I was shooting a concept photo for a local bridal boutique and I thought what would be cooler then a bride and an airplane. This portrait was a bit complex. I had two off camera flashes. The key was an alienbee with a parabolic umbrella. The other flash was off to the right side of the image with only a reflector.

San Antonio Wedding Photographer - Magic Moments

I often shoot wide to capture the environment and expressions during a reception. For this particular moment, Jenny began to sing to her handsome groom Philip. Being unaware what was going to happen, Philip couldn't contain is happiness. He smiled, laughed and cried. As you can see everyone was ready with their phones snapping away.

San Antonio Wedding Photographer - Creative Ideas for an Engagement Portrait

I love to collaborate with my couples and by doing so amazing portraits can be created. Patrick and Marilu had the idea of incorporating fishing into one of their engagement portraits. When hearing this, I got pretty excited and created this image.

San Antonio Wedding Photographer - Time for the Reception

Often moments happen when you least expect them and this was the case for this image. After we were done with formals, the groom decided to lift his bride over the his shoulder and carry her into the reception, lucky for me I had my camera ready to capture her ecstatic expression.

San Antonio Wedding Photographer - Lighting Makes a Difference

Shooting my third wedding at ZaZa Gardens, I knew the pool outside would make for a great portrait because of its leading lines to the subject and beautiful reflections of the water. I've captured other portraits there before but never at night. Being pitch black with only one street light and a few tea candles in the water would make a terrible dark image because of the absences of light. To counter this issue I decided to use two canon speedlites. One was directly behind the happy couple acting as a back light and the other in front out of frame as a key light.
